19 painted lady butterflies emerged last Wednesday and Thursday.  We were hoping to release them before the long holiday weekend, but they weather didn't cooperate.  The butterflies were so cold they wouldn't fly and we could see them shivering.  This one went back into its habitat with the others to sip sugar water and oranges for the weekend.  As soon as we got inside, they started flying and flapping!
